Local Walks
Healey Hall is nestled in the heart of Northumberland’s rolling hills, in a tranquil and secluded setting that makes it a true walker’s haven. From peaceful local paths to more adventurous routes, there’s something for every pace, with easy access to the Tyne Valley, surrounding woodlands, and the historic remains of Hadrian’s Wall.
Derwent Reservoir: Located just south of Healey, this reservoir offers a popular 9.4-mile shoreline circuit from Pow Hill Country Park, as well as shorter 3.8-mile loops through natural bog habitats.
Slaley Forest: Nearby Slaley Forest features smooth, accessible trails perfect for both casual walking and mountain biking, with routes starting from nearby Slaley Hall.
Hexham Abbey Grounds & The Sele: A short drive away in Hexham, these formal gardens and woodland areas offer a more manicured and gentle walking experience.
While Healey Hall is nestled in the countryside, it is within easy reach of some of the most dramatic and best-preserved sections of Hadrian's Wall.
